I am sorry that I could not make your birthday party yesterday. I would very much want to come and say happy birthday and had a lot of fun with you guys, but I had a visitor from hometown yesterday and just could not make myself excused. Hope you had fun last night and didn't get too drunk.

I am very sorry that I didn't join your birthday party yesterday. Actually I planed to, but one of my friends came over at the same time when I was going to leave from my place.She was very upset, so I cannot just leave her alone. I hope you can understand. You must have been disappointed by my absence.
