我和jane约定好在暑假时去南京陪她，临时我有一个重要的考试，很抱歉不能去南京陪她。

I should be utterly ashamed of myself. I can’t believe I actually

missed the appointment we’d been talking about for so long. I

expect you’re pretty angry with me.

I really am terribly sorry - I know you also had to postpone two

other meetings because of me. I remembered with a shock as I

was having breakfast this morning that we were supposed to be

meeting up, but unfortunately it was already too late by then.

Please can I try and make amends for this mess by inviting you for

a slap-up meal at our favourite Italian restaurant?
