不必庸人自扰(Don't Sweat the Small Stuff)
Often we allow ourselves to get all worked up about things that, upon closer examination, aren't really that big a deal. We focus on little problems and concerns and blow them way out of proportion. A stranger, for example, might cut in front of us in traffic. Rather than let it go, and go
on with our day, we convince ourselves that we are justified in our anger. We play out an imaginary confrontation in our mind. Many of us might even tell someone else about the incident later on rather than simply let it go. Why not instead simply allow the driver to have his accident somewhere else? Try to have compassion for the person and remember how painful it is to be in such an enormous hurry. This way, we can maintain our own sense of well-being and avoid taking other people's problems personally. There are many similar, 'small stuff' examples that occur every day in our lives. Whether we had to wait in line, listen to an unfair criticism, or do the lion's share of the work, it pays enormous dividends if we learn not to worry about little things. So many people spend so much of their life energy 'sweating the small stuff' that they completely lose touch with the magic and beauty of life. When you commit to working toward this goal you will find that you will have far more energy to be kinder and gentler.

Olympic Mental or Physical

Hello, ladies and gentlemen:

Nearly four years has gone by since we successfully bid for the 2008 Olympic Games. Have you ever think about this questions, Olympic mental or physical? As the Olympic games has become a part of my life, I began to accumulate thoughts and feeling of it. And finally I discovered that a kind of sports spirit has taken root in the bottom of my heart..

In an advertisement, it says: even though our athletes are able to run faster than a gust of wind, even though our gymnasts can be more sensitive than cats, even though the weight-lifting players can be stronger than elephants, we still cannot prove that we are great, unless we understand the strongest part of human body is mind. These words teach us the true essence of the Olympic Games. It is not only a competition for sportsmen to confirm who is stronger physically or more skillful, but it is a stage for us to spread love, peace and a positive mental attitude. And the Olympic flame seems to be a magic spark that lights up the fire of our power inside.

Both physical and mental training are essential in reaching the Olympic motto: swifter, higher, and stronger. And I hope more and more athletes will get aware of it, because what we get inside can be stronger than everything.

To a Chinese, the task of learning English well is not easy. So I, like many other English learners, have met with difficulties in learning English during the past seven years. But I managed to overcome them and made much progress.
The spelling and meaning of words can be said to be the first difficulty I met as a beginner. But I found our my own way to deal with them. As to spelling, I never copied a new work again and again to remember it, but tried to find its relevance to the sound. In fact, as long as I can read the word out, I can write it out. As to the meaning, I rarely recite its Chinese translation but often put the word into the sentence to learn its meaning. Moreover, if you use a word quite often, its spelling and meaning will be no problem. After all, we are learning English in order to use it.
Grammar and idioms may be another difficulty. But I have also got over it. I have not read lots of grammar books. But I spent much time reading the articles written by native speakers or specialists in English. By doing so, I came to gain “a sense of English language”. I began to gain a feel for which sentences are “good English” and which are not.
Finally, I want to say that overcoming all these difficulties requires perseverance. In the past seven years I spent at least an hour on English each day. I believe this is an important reason why I am able to make progress in learning English

我的新家(My new home)
My family used to live in an apartment. It is big, bright and comfortable. However, since I went to middle school, my home is far away from my school, so we moved into a new house. I am not satisfied with this house. Because it is much smaller than the old one. It has only two bedrooms, one bathroom and a kitchen. It has not a living room. I am not happy that I have no place to put my books and clothes. But the house is near my school, so I can save much time on my way to school. Although the house is small and old, but it is includes my parents’ love.
I love my new home.
