My father and mother, my brother and sister
and I, with uncle Pat, our dour best-loved uncle,
had set out that Sunday afternoon in July
in his broken-down Ford
not to visit some graveyard—one died of shingles,
one of fever, another's knees turned to jelly—
but the brand-new roundabout at Ballygawley,
the first in mid-Ulster.
Uncle Pat was telling us how the B-Specials
had stopped him one night somewhere near Ballygawley
and smashed his bicycle
and made him sing the Sash and curse the Pope of Rome.
They held a pistol so hard against his forehead
there was still the mark of an O when he got home.
1)
In the past, they visited some graveyard with died of shingles and fever which is a place they felt weak because they were frightened, nervous, and ill. In this setout in the Sunday afternoon in July, they visited the brand-new roundabout at Ballygawley which is the first in mid-Ulster.
2) The poet's attitude towards the B specials was mainly negative. The reference are:
a) The Ulster Special Constabulary had stopped him and smashed his bicycle.
b) The B-Specials made him sing the Sash and curse the Pope of Rome.
c) The constabulary held a pistol so hard against his forehead that there was still the mark of muzzle on his forehead when he got home.

Answer to Q1:
The big differences are:1. the place they “setout that Saturday afternoon in July" to visit used to be a graveyard in the past, but it is a first roundabout in mid-Ulster in the present; 2. they “setout that Saturday afternoon in July" by car in the present time, while by bike in the past.
Answer to Q: negative. Bcause Uncle Pat told him a bad story of B specials, where Uncle Pat's bicycle was smashed and Uncle Pat was pointed by a hard pistol against his forehead. This was a terrible experience。

Q2:negative.Because the uncle was attacked and got hurt near Ballygawley,Ballygawley represent violence and unsafe. so B-specials is negative.

Q1: The family used to visit the graveyard -- some died of shingles, fever, or jelly knees. However, when the family "set out that Saturday afternoon in July", they were to visit the brand-new roundabout at Ballygawley, which was the first roundabout in mid-Ulster.
Q2: I think the poet thinks negatively towards the B specials. In the last two paragraphs of the poem, the poet described his/her uncle's experience being hurt and threatened by the B specials with a gun. I think the poet is against the violent behaviour of the B specials.
