SMW method (Soil Mixing Wall) method, also called reinforced soil-cement Mixing Wall method. SMW continuous wall in Japan in 1976, developed by the Japanese ChengXin industrial co., LTD. SMW construction wall thickness is small, fast, small influence on surrounding environment. And its economic, applicable and environmental advantages and more and more widely used, especially suitable for as the retaining structure of deep foundation pit in soft soil area. This paper combined with the application of SMW in a foundation pit enclosure, detailed elaborated the SMW process, construction quality assurance measures, exception handling, and their successful utilization in urban construction are put forward SMW shows it has broad application prospects.
