Jamie was late for the exam last week, I forbade him to enter the examination which directly led Jamie failed to pass the English course. I insist this for the reasons below: Firstly, he is a student, which means he must obey the rules of our school, late for the exam had already broke the rules. Secondly, I did this to show all the students to pay much attention to hard work. I hope this punishment won't hurt Jamie's interest of study, I hope to help him to remember this and never late for the next time. This time you just late for a exam, I hope in the future you won't late for the important moments in your life for you to regret in the rest of your life.

A survey was made about students' attitude to Jamie's lateness for the English exam last week. We find that they have very different views on it.
Some hold that Jamie should be allowed to attend the exam, because he didn't arrive late on purpose; if he was refused, he might lose interest in English later on.
However, some have a very differnt view. They insist that everyone should obey the school rules. As a result, if someone is late, they should be allowed to take the exam, or they might form the habit of lateness.
If I were the teacher, I would let him in, and warn him of not being late again. After all, it's a valuable opportunity for him to practise. I hope encouragement is better than punishment.
