The first reason is that my parents like them. They think teachers are iron rice bowls. There were few English teachers at that time, unlike Chinese and math teachers everywhere.

第一个原因就是我的爸爸妈妈他们喜欢，他们觉得老师是铁饭碗，像是英语老师那个时候还比较的少，不像是语文，数学老师遍地都是。

Now people also pay more attention to learning English. Learning English starts with dolls, so my parents think English majors are also very popular.

现在的人们也比较重视对英语的学习，学习英语从娃娃抓起，所以我的爸爸妈妈认为英语专业也挺吃香的。

Especially if I can be a teacher, it will be very powerful, so they hope I can choose English major.

特别是如果能当老师的话就特别的厉害，所以他们就希望我能够选择英语专业。
