Dear Tom,

How are you? It has been a week since I came to Wuhan. Wuhan is a very busy city by the Yangtze River. It is said to be one of the four furnace cities in China with the average temperature above 30 degree celsius during summer time. It may not sound extreme, but the high humidity really adds up. I felt it the moment I arrrived at the city.

I have been touring around the campus and the city in the last serveral days with my Chinese friend, a nice girl who speaks good English. We went to the Yellow Crane Tower and the Guiyuan temple. I always got a lot of staring from other Chinese people, but they all appeared to be very friendly. My Chinese friend introduced me to all kinds of local food. There are a lot of restaurants and small food stands where I stay. The price of the food is usually very cheap, but are very delicious. So far, everything is great and I really like the Chinese people and enjoy the chinese food.

I've been in Wuhan for a week , I miss you very much . The weather in Wuhan is different from that in America , It's much hotter . I'm learning Chinese every day , and I practice speaking Chinese with a local student . I'm glad to have a friend like him . I love the Chinese people and Chinese food here . Iwish you were here .

Wuhan is a coastal city with a long history and rich culture. There are many European style buildings in Wuhan.Wuhanis famous for snacks and folk art forms and many artists live in it. The local people are very fond of seafood, and the price is also very reasonable.
