The film is about a guy named Bertie(伯蒂) how to fix a voice and become a confident leader.
After his father died, his bother chooses beauty rather than the nation, Bertie has to take charge of the country regardless of his unwillingness. He is warm-hearted, diligent and friendly, but he sufferes a serious physical problems. He could not speak out fluently because of timidness, even a few very simple words in public speaking. As countries gradually evolves into the horrors of war, the state and the people desperately need a wise leader. With the help of his wife, he knows a language therapists named Leon na er (莱格). Through a series of training, the new king gets a very big improvement, Leon na er upright character also wins the people's respect and honor to be the king's friends. Then George vi publishes famous Christmas speech, inspired the British military and civilian in world war II, and the story becomes history anecdotes.
