The mech I need for you to design needs to have various interchangable parts for various tasks but for the sake of time. Lets go with a well balanced medium armored frame that can handle well on its own in general purpose situations or in a squad of eight for extra special tactical advantage over the field. This mech has to look aerodynamic because DF's and AF's essencially don't 'touch' the ground, instead hover over various surfaces for enhanced mobility, agility, and speed. The equipment used to keep them suspended in mid-air is buried in the core of the mech so it continues to function well after the mech has sustained a heavy beeting. The machine can walk and run but, they're not optimized for this type of mobility which usually is a last resort incase there is a machanical failure with the device.
The arms of this mech are strange and follow the same design layout of Landmates of the animation Appleseed EX Machina. A pair of slave arms as well as a pair of manipulator arms. Although in this case AF's can weild weapons on the slave arms unlike Landmates. This is because pilots of AF's are directly connected to their mech via a brain–computer interface to assist them with even greater tasks. Weapons and other tactical equipment can be mounted to the left or right hardpoints behind AF's but they limit there mobility and speed drastically, unless it's a weapon and that's its only armament then there is no change to mobility or speed. There are also hardpoints on these mechs shoulders for defensive purposes like flares, anti-missial laser devices and assist missials. Artilery is very limited oh these hardpoints and are meant for defensive use, most pilots do not add any defensive counter measures due to added weight but, the option is always there.
The armor plating of AF's are 'flexible' because it is essentially a composite regenerative nano machine structure, so in this case they need to look as anatomically real as possible but at the same time showing that they are most definately mechanical. The armor needs to be aerodynamic but also easily accessible if a specific plating is damaged and needs repair. Another interesting feature that these nanites create and control autonomously is a layered 'sheild'. This sheild is made up of miniture hexagons layered to three levels and protects the entire mech on all sides. Every hexagonal section will be depleted if fired upon continously, however, the nanites move the sheild in the direction being focused on and move the remaining sections to try and hold that area protected. Eventually the sheild will be completely depleted thus leaving the regenerative nano machine armor left. Even so, with the amount of artilery and armor these mechs carry truely makes them fearsome on the battle field as well as being very difficult to destroy, although there have only been 17 casualties. The machine is very effective, trying to fight off one of these is an act of suicide. 展开
