M: I didn’t know you were having problems.

Text 10
How long should a child nap? This is usually what parents want to know. This concern dates back a little over a hundred years. In the first decade of the 20th century, European experts published studies measuring the sleep patterns of children and began worrying they were not getting enough sleep.
Generally, new babies spend most of their time sleeping. As they grow, older babies sleep at night, waking to be active in the early morning and taking morning naps; they wake again for play and food, followed by afternoon naps.
Some time after the first birthday, the two naps become one, usually in the late morning or early afternoon. As they grow toward school age, most children begin to fight against that remaining nap or just leave it behind. By age 5, about 80 percent of kids have given up a nap.
In 2003, a group of scientists published a study. It showed that children who slept less than their peers when they were babies seemed to need less sleep when they grew up. A 2005 study of American children aged 3 to 8 showed differences between black and white children. Black children napped more and tended to be older when they gave up their naps.
With all the findings, the study of napping patterns is still continuing. Experts are just beginning to understand the biological meanings behind.

书面表达(One possible version)
Spring has come. Though there is more sunshine, the weather changes more quickly. People, especially children, can catch illnesses more easily if they do not take better care of their health. Therefore, it’s necessary to pay more attention to the prevention of illnesses.
Firstly, we should often eat more fruit and vegetables, which contain a lot of vitamins that can help us fight diseases better, and avoid eating food that has gone bad. Secondly, we should often go outside to experience the sun and get more exercise, such as jogging or working out in the gym. Exercise can strengthen our body and sweat can help us remove harmful chemicals from our body. Then, we’d better get about 8 hours of sleep a day. Enough sleep is also a cure for diseases. And we must often open our windows for fresh air to come in to replace the dirty air. Last but not least, we should often take part in some entertainments, such as listening to music or watching a film, which can let us have a better state of mind.
