Most Chinese students have difficulties in learning English. The difficulties vary so much from person to person that it is difficult to cite here in a few words. Some may have problems in reading. Others may have trouble in writing. There are still others who are weak in listening and speaking. Therefore, how to overcome these difficulties has become a major concern of many chinese English learners.
In my opinion, we need two things to learn English well — passion and a possitive mindset. Passion makes us want to learn English, no matter what difficulties we may encounter; a possibive mindset allows us to build self-confidence so that we can make correct judgement of ourselves and are ready to overcome any difficulties.
Here are some tips as to how to creat a possitive mindset in the process of learning English.
1. Imagine ourselves in the future. Imagine we can talk to native speakers just like we talk in our first language. Imagine other people wanting to speak English as well as we do.
2. Remember that we are already good. We already know some English. That's a big success! Now it's time for more successes. Time to start using powerful methods of effective learning. Time to gain an impressive knowledge of English.
3. Remember there is a lot that we don't know. We are good, but our English isn't perfect, even if we are the best students in our class. Always try to find our weak areas and work on them.
4. Use English whenever we can. This is very, very important. The more we use English, the more we will want to learn it. Because English is so popular, we can use it everywhere. We can use Google to find English-language websites with interesting information. We can watch American cartoons. We can also read interesting books in English.
If we are persist in doing these things, we will not only have fun in learning English, but our English will as well grow faster than we can imagine.
