1.I went to Beijing
during the summer holiday in 2008.It was an exciting trip. I went there
with my parents. It took us about the whole night to take a train there. The weather in Beijing was the same as that in Suzhou. It was a beautiful city. However, there was more pollution in Beijing.
On the first day morning, we went to Tian'anmen Square to watch the rising of the national flag It was very exciting and solemn. I'm so excited about that and I was so proud.
The next day, we visited the Great Wall. I understood the meaning of "He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a hero." The Great Wall was so long that I felt very tired after I climbed to the top of it.
On the third day, we went to the Palace Museum. It was a
really wonderful palace. The palace was quite big and exquisite. I
couldn't believe my eyes. I was so amazed when I saw so many fantastic
things.
On the fourth day, we tried Beijing Duck. It was so delicious. Then, we went to Tsinghua University. It was a beautiful school and just like a garden. I want to study in it when I grow up.
On the last day, we went to Wangfujing Street. My mother was so excited that she bought a lot of souvenirs for her friends. However, I didn't like shopping at all. But my mother did like it.
In all, we stayed in Beijing for about five days. We enjoyed the trip to Beijing very much. It was a really meaningful trip. I hope I can visit there again in the future.

2.My favourite sport

Among all kinds of ball games, I like basketball best. I like playing basketball, although I can not play it well. It brought me a good menmory.

The first time I really played basketball was in my junior middle school. It happened when we were nearly to graduate from the school. That evening, my good friend, D.H, was teaching me how to play basketball. Then, six boys in my class joined us. What was more, our chemistry teacher and poltics teacher also joined us. That day, only a girl, me, on the playground. We divided into two groups. Our teachers and I were in the same group, others in the other group. That was really a happy time in my life, I thought so. The boys and our teachers taught me how to play it so thoroughly and we nearly forget that we were in the different teams. I played it very happily. I shot baskets very exactly. So everyone all clapped for me. I could remember clearly that everyone smiled happily, and the sweat smiles keep in my mind forever. Exactly, this time basketball brought us friendship. And then, I started to like playing basketball.

Then, I love the feeling of running on the playground; I love the feeling of sweating when play basketball.

Every time I play basketball, I am always reminded of those sweet smiles and sweat. Basketball brings me friendship and happiness.

My Favourite detective
In the world of detective novels, Sherlock Holmes is undoubtedly the most famous one. But for me, the greatest detective in novels is Hercule Poirot, a little Belgian who always uses his little grey cells to find the truth.
I really appreciate him for various reasons, such as his having an insight into other people's psychology, his understanding on hunman nature and his being merciful. But most improtant thing is that he looks more like a real human being, compared with Holmes or other legend detectives. He has such a funny appearance, an egg-shaped head and exaggerated moustache . He enjoys delicious cuisine and focuses on his own dressing. He is always humor and likes to mock himself. he prefers to stay with young peole for being attracted by their vigor and energy. And there are still so many lovely features of him I can list.
Anyway, I like him and appreciate him. I always get touched by the philosophy of life in his storys. Hercule Poirot is indeed my favourite detective.
