When it comes to the disparity of the education between the west and east , I think there are quite things to illustrate, however,if you would like to have a good knowledge of the general difference, I think the main points are as follows:
First,although the main purpose for both education is to cultivate the talents used for the society , the educating manner is of great difference. The eastern education is focus on reciting and obedience than the western ,which gives more emphasis on the free development of students mainly reflected on independent study and extensive study.
Second,compared to the eastern education ,the west has given full consideration to the all-round development of the students,unlike china,they don't excessively emphasize the importance of grades.they think that developing the creativity and curiosity of students is much more important than simply high grades.
