Some of those diamonds were as big as marbles. 那些钻石之中，你说的是某一堆钻石而不是所有钻石，用those比较明晰。glass ball玻璃球可大可小，用marbles弹珠让人有个较清晰的概念。
instantly是立即，即刻的意思，你是想用insistantly吧？the seller可以是售货员，带有较正统售卖的意思，如果用vendor（小贩）较适合这在街上发生的事。when we were passing a shop那打错了stop。
