此首歌最初的原唱是Neil Sedaka， 是他在1959年向他当时的女友Carol King表达爱慕之意的经典歌曲，Oh Carol轻快的旋律将他对女友的情意生动的表达出来，这首歌虽然传诵一时，很遗憾的是，Carol最后还是投入了他人的怀抱……

beach boys （沙滩男孩）和Paul Anka分别翻唱过这首歌。

另外，英国歌手John Lennon 也唱过一首叫 Carol 的歌，但不是 Neil 的那个。
