1.With the sharp rise of the cost of college education, students have a few ways to pay for their college tuition and fees. Many students just let their parents pay the tuition. Some students may apply for a bank loan and others will try to find part-time jobs both on the campus and out of campus. Apart from this, many good students will win a scholarship. In this way they can pay at least part of their tuition.
As to me, I will let my parents pay half of my tuition because they are not rich enough. Besides my studies, I will take up a part-time job as a tutor teaching some high school students maths, physics and English, as I’m very good at the subjects. Of course I will work very hard at my lessons so that I can win a scholarship. I think that’s enough to pay for my college education.
2.With reforms carried out in other fields, higher education in China is also undergoing great changes. One of them is the newly-adopted tuition policy. According to this new policy, college students are supposed to pay an average sum of 4,000 yuan each year as tuition. In addition, students must pay other fees, such as accommodation and healthcare.
Students can finance their college education in various ways. First of all, they depend on their parents, as is the most common case in China. Secondly, they do part time jobs to earn the money. Then for some excellent students, they study hard so as to obtain scholarships. Finally, those especially poor students, having no other means to finance their college education, may turn to the loan programs for financial aid.
With one of my parents laid off, my family can’t possibly afford all my expenses at college. However, my family is not as hard up as those from the poverty-stricken areas. Consequently, I’m not eligible to seek help from the loan programs, and I don’t want to. Instead, I practise self-reliance by offering instruction as a tutor. In this way I find myself not only better off financially, but also, by getting out of the ivory tower, making great progress academically. As a result, I have won first-class scholarships for two years on end. Fortunately, I have come by the best way to finance, as well as to benefit from, my college education.
3.How I Finance My College Education
With the ever-increasing number of students in college in China, universities can no longer be financed exclusively by the government. And now, all tile college students must pay for their tuition.
There are various ways for a student to finance his college education. If the student is excellent in his studies, he can apply for scholarship. Most universities set up scholarship to offer money to poor students who do well in entrance exams and reward those who have outstanding performance in college either academically or in student associations. A student can also choose to turn to a bank for low-interest Loans to pay his way through university, which he can repay after graduation. In addition to the above-mentioned ways, taking part-time jobs is also a common way for a college student to get money to pay part of his tuition and fees.
So far as I'm concerned, I'd prefer earning the scholarship. After all, the task of a student is to study. And in addition, 1'11 work part-time to help support myself. In this way, I can be wholly self-reliant and independent.
