When I was in senior high school, I used to think that being hard-working was not a proud thing. In fact, I felt it a shame to be labeled of a hard-working student. In my mind, If you work hard, and then you get low or same grade with others. It just showed that you are not as smart as others. And I preferred to be a smart student.
Believing this, I wasn’t working so hard until I went in senior 2. Once I was reading a novel after finishing my math assignments, my class-teacher suddenly asked me out, looking at my eyes seriously .I felt so nervous, and then ,he said:” You are a smart girl, but why don’t you work more harder like others? However, two months later, in our final exam, the most hard-working student in our class replaced the top student and she got the first prize, which surprised everyone. I was shocked and kept thinking my class-teacher’s words. Maybe I was wrong. I shouldn’t look down upon those hard-working students. After that, I decided to learn from the most hard-working student to improve my grade next semeste
Anyway, I didn’t take my class-teacher’s words seriously
At first, it had no effect. But after one month, I did achieve some unusual improvement. I was grateful for my class-teacher. I had been always believing that a smart student needn’t work so hard and he or she can get high grade too. From then on, I knew that no mater how smart a student was, he or she should work hard
