Today, with the ever aggravating problem of environmental pollutions, heavy metal pollution is causing widespread public concern due to its unique hazards to human beings. In view of the high rate of heavy metal pollution incidents, there have been increasing number of analytical researches on heavy metal pollutant sources in the environment. As the significant biological toxicity of heavy metal cannot degrade or fade away, instead it can store up in organisms and jeopardize human health via food chains.

This paper comprehensively analyzes several major sources of heavy metal contaminations in the environment, e.g. atmospheric heavy metal deposition, irrational utilization of agricultural materials such as pesticides, fertilizers and plastic film, sewage irrigation, waste accumulations by heavy metal mines and industries, acidic waste water pollution from metallic mines etc. At the same time, this paper also comprehensively expounds the rehabilitating strategies of the heavy metal pollutions caused by these contaminating sources. These strategies include engineering and chemical treatment methods, bioremediation solutions, agricultural control measures and some novel technologies; every different polluting source will be treated with specific rehabilitation measure, so as to achieve the objective of controlling or alleviating heavy metal pollutions.

Nowadays, environmental pollution is becoming worse and worse.Because of the great harm of heavy metal on the human body, this kind of pollution has aroused widespread concern in society as a whole.Faced with the high momentum of the heavy metal pollution incidents, the analysis of heavy metal pollution in the environment increase day by day .Heavy metal has significant biotoxicity, which can't degrade or disappear in the environment, but can accumulate in the body of the creature, causing harm to human health through the food chain.
