WOMENSWEAR SHROUDING REQUIREMENTS

1. GENERAL

Plastic Shrouding Quality (for hanging and flat products)
 All plastic must be BHT free polythene and must be recyclable
 The maximum thickness required for single plastic garment shrouds is 80-gauge polythene
 Overbags for garment hanging sets may be thicker, but should not exceed 120-gauge polythene
 Do not use any stickers on polythene bags

Safety Warning
 Where a product is displayed in store in a plastic bag and that bag is sold to the public as part of the product, it must carry the ‘Safety First’ warning and have perforations
 The ‘Safety First’ wording is as follows:

“To avoid danger of suffocation, keep away from babies and children”

3. EXCEPTION LIST
• Individually shroud garments made from silk, chiffon, georgette, organza, satin, velvet, suede, leather, polynosic, tencel and modal
• Individually shroud garments with heavy embellishment (eg where the front has more than 30% coverage or both the front and the back have sequins/beads)
• Individually shroud bridal gowns
• Individually shroud white or cream garments with a retail price of £99 or over
• Any other exceptions as agreed in writing by a Debenhams technologist
