你好。 我是来自新加坡的一名学生。
An unforgettable experience
100 字左右就够了吗?
The sun blazed mercilessly upon my back, scorching my bag and burning my hair. No leaves rustled, everything was still. Nobody in the vicinity is visible. Everyone has left, for shelter.
I was the last student to leave school. There was no bus in sight, and it took about fifty minutes to walk back home. Cursing and kicking a stone sitting ominously on the ground, I failed to realise what was in stall for me- A catastrophe created single-handedly by me.
The stone I kicked zipped into mid-air and landed with a loud thud on the road. It was totally unintentional, and everything that happened from then on was swift. Initially, I saw no potential hazard the little stone will cause, until a motorcycle zoomed past. I was dumbfounded, awestruck. Not to mention stupefied.
Unknowingly, the motorist sped past the stone and the stone hit him in his head, whilst the motorcycle lost balance and tipped over. Terror seized me and tore me into shreds like mozzarella, darkness devoured me. My mind went blank. My heart palpitated, thumping towards my weakened ribcage, and my legs took on the properties of a jelly.
The aftermath of the accident was a heart-wrenching sight. I could not believe how much damage a seemingly minute stone can do. Blood splattered in every nook and cranny of the motorcycle. The motorist's head was badly twisted, his face contorted beneath the helmet. I dared not look, for the accident was already devastating enough for me. I prayed, silently, to Buddha that this man will reincarnate into a better person in his next life while I clasped my hands. The man was officially pronounced dead, after I called in the paramedics and the police.
This accident etched on to my heart and mind forever and it left an indelible scar on me. All I wanted to do now is to pay my tributes to the victim. My victim.
