ripples in torque and currents. The proposed method makes use of two input current vector, instead of
one in original DTC, in each cycle period to improve the input current quality without any negative
effect on the motor side performance and furthermore simplify the control scheme. The input power
factor hysteresis controller, the input displacement angle estimator and the low pass filter are not
required in the new DTC scheme. The proposed DTC and original DTC have been compared by
simulations and experiments. The distortion of the input current is reduced but the output performance
is preserved without adding its complexity. Both steady state and dynamic conditions have been tested
