我觉得对于“品质，品德”用character会比较好一些。

楼主的“My friend is the person who has the quality as well as me ”有语病，who has the quality 是修饰the person,所以如果你把它遮起来不看，就成了my friend is the person ()as well as me. well作为形容词。
但是，well只有作副词的时候才有“好”的意思，如果是形容词的话，意思相当于satisfatory, right and proper, in good health.所以用做形容词是不符合你原句的意思的。

楼主第二句翻译意思上与原句稍有不同。
MY friend,as well as me, has the great quality 意思是我和我朋友都有好品质，强调二者。但是原句是强调你的朋友。所以在意思上是有偏差的。
