Why a Confucious Classroom?
Our school promotes the learning of Mandarin and the awareness of Chinese Culture through study in its feeder Junior School and through an integrated programme of study which is compulsory from Year 6-8 and optional in Year 9 and above. These studies are enhanced through a biannual cross-curricular trip to China, and what is hoped to be an annual Languages trip to China and by our long-standing link with XXX School. Owing to our school's role in the local community, Mandarin can be seen to be promoted in the local area also. As such, we feel that our school is an ideal school for a Confucius Classroom, both in recognition of what we have done and to enable us to do more.
