What's your gender?建议参考谷歌上native speaker的回答。这个问题如果是在网上问尚未谋面的人还行，现实中就有点不礼貌了（显得你区分不出对方的性别），另外，如果是调查表的话直接填“sex”就好。另外，据网友说，直接问“are you a man or a woman? (或are you a guy or a girl?) ”
Just ask directly: are you a man or a woman? (casually: are you a guy or a girl?)

"What is your sex?" makes me feel like a farm animal or house pet, examined by a veterinarian.

"What is your gender?" makes me think you're looking at me but can't decide if I'm male or female. (I'll grow a beard, OK?)

If this is for online chat, just "asl?" is fine (age, sex, location?).
