1. alike → like
很明显，此题前部分是用介宾做状语。
alike是表语形容词，而like(像...一样)才是介词。

2. block → blocks
用其复数形式对应前句的acids

3. aware → awareness
present为动词，后面加名词做其宾语。

4. device → devices
解释同第2题，应该用其复数形式(number本身就是修饰可数名词复数的)。

5. were → have been
从句尾的时间状语since 2000 B.C.来看，句子时态必须是现在完成时。
