（1）look like / look the same都可表示"看起来很像"之意。look like是由不及物动词look+介词like构成的动词词组，后面需接一个宾语。若表示"某人（物）十分相像"可用very much修饰。如：

Lily looks like your sister very much. 莉莉看上去很像你妹妹。

look the same 是一个固定词组，表示主语所包含的两个或两个以上的事物看起来一样，主语一定是复数，其动词look不可能出现looks形式。look the same后面不再接其它成分，也不能用very much修饰。如：

Are you twins? You look the same. 你们是双胞胎吗？你们看起来很像。

当然，在某些句式及结构中，look like与look the same在表达上可相互转换。请比较：

She looks like her mother. / She and her mother look the same. 她看起来很像她母亲。
（2）take after和look like 是一对近义词组，它们的区别是：

1. take after意为“长得像，行为、性格等像”，尤其是像自己的长辈，可解释为be similar to。如：

Mary really takes after her mother.

玛丽的确长得像她的妈妈。

2. look like可以用于所有场合，既可指人也可指物，只指外表看上去像。如：

The man looks like our headmaster.

那个人看起来像我们的校长。

The photo doesn’t look like her at all.

那张照片看上去一点儿也不像她。
