College Students' Living Condition
The ideal college lifestyle dissipates quickly once the reality is
reached. Many young adults imagine vivid pictures of what college might
be like for them. However, once these young adults mature into
independent men and women, and enter into the school of their choice,
they soon realize the reality of the college lifestyle. They must learn
to adapt to their new surroundings as quickly as possible to accomplish
the sought after degrees. Students come to the realization that life
is not as easy as they might hope for.
Many young adults seem to be rather disappointed with the living conditions in campus. The accomdations students choose are mainly categorized into two sectors - students' dormitory and rented house.
Firstly, the students' dormitory is usually dubbed as crammed as the formicary. Unlike the high school life, students mostly follow a fixed time table, college students are facing a problem of self-time management. Since they have grown up to be independent men and women, they no longer receive a good care from the school teachers and councelor's. Therefore, not only do college students need to learn to balance between studies and life, they also have to take care of themselves in various aspects of life. Nevertheless, students live in campus will enjoy the time saved for travel since they are close to the lecture rooms. At the meantime, they can probably make more friends in the campus.

Secondly, the living condition for students who rent a room or a house outside campus is thought to be even more harsh. Not mention the longer commuting time and trouble in parking on campus, the biggest disadvantage of living off-campus is the feeling that you are disconnected from campus life. Since they do not spend as much time as the in-campus students, it is likely for them to miss many interesting activities and the chances of getting to know more people from the same school. On the other hand, what is good about renting a room outside the school is, it does allow you to enjoy a more spacious room and you may also choose what kind of roommates you want, whereas in the campus, your roommates are not decided by yourself.

All in all, there are several disadvantages and advantages for both living on-campus and off-campus, hence students need to weigh between both aspects and make a mindful decision before they can enjoy the college life.
