Since I have made many friends of the opposite gender, I quite understand that you are worried about me and my study. However, I want to say that making friends with the opposite gender will not affect my study; on the contrary, it can do benefit to me.
On one hand, I believe that there is pure friendship between girls and boys. Girls and boys become friends not just based on love.I think that boys and girls are equal by nature, so there is no much difference between making friends with boys and with girls. Boys and girls can sometimes become good friends because of similar interests or habits or just appreciation of the other party's personality.
On the other hand, I think that making friends with the other gender can help us. As we all know that girls are usually better at language and arts, while boys are often good at mathmatics and science. Girls are more senible when dealings with things, while boys are more rational and reasonable. Therefore, I think that if boys and girls can be friends, they can help each other not only with their studies but with their attitudes towards life.
Moreover, making friends with the opposite gender can improve our ability of social communication, which will do us a lot of benefit in out future life and work. It can help us to become more mature and have a better understanding of the things and people around us.
