GPS (Global Positioning System) has been wildly used in daily life. It is an important portion of the mordern informaiton technology development. Because of its excellent performance, high precision and various application, it has become the best navigation system so far.

This article introduced the communication protocols of GPS based on the NAVMAN GPS Receiver Module, Jupiter 21, offered by New Zealand GPS navigation producer.It dicussed the design of singlechip-based GPS receiver system, also presented the receiving of GPS signal, as well as the extraction methods of each location parameter, ad mainly dicussed hardware system design process, with a detailed design circuit.
