一道GRE数学题，为什么选C？

我个人觉得T的range最小呀。

题目问的是在四项加起来美元数量最少的地区，图标横轴是美元数量，最少的自然是P，P中Transportation所占比例就是16%

the range of sth该如何解释？
我的理解是：PQRSTU都有各自的range of the dollar amounts of the four expense categories ，然后T的恰恰是最小的。
为什么可以理解成：在四项加起来美元数量最少的地区呢？
PS：无论是统计学还是官方OG对于range of sth的定义都是最大值减去最小值的呀。

range of sth是最大值减最小值，这道题目里的dollar amounts就是横轴上标示的内容，选取其中最小的范围自然就是最短的一条P了

我明白你的意思了，你看的是总和对吧？就是说1000-0=1000是最小的，所以选择P？
我的理解：地区P：四个项目分别是600,160,140,100，P的range是600-100=500。同时，地区T：假设总量是1200（就算是1250也可以），四个项目分别是600,240，168，192，T的range是600-192=408. 那么按照我的理解方式，题目应该怎么表述呢？

你说的这个应该是每个地区所占最大比例花销与最小比例花销之间的差，如果要在题目里描述的话应该会说最大最小比例花销之间的差值吧

The range of the dollar amounts in a region means something different than what you're thinking. In each region there are four living expenses that take on four different values (outputs). The rangeof the expenses is the difference between the most expensive thing and the least expensive thing in a given region. Calculating this for each region, it looks like region TT with an expense range of 50%−14%=36%50%−14%=36%, has the least range. And then the transportation expense in region TT is 20%.
