there存在句的谓语在意义上表示存在、发生等。真正主语后移至谓语动词之后，而不是紧接的动词之后。因此There seems/appears to be something soemwhere.这样的结构中。
to be something somewhere在传统语法并不被认为是不定式短语，而是将seems to be, appears to be视为复合谓语。那么真正主语后移至谓语动词之后，当然是to be之后，而不是seems和appears之后。不存在也没有人会犯这样的错误。
