Since humans came into existence tens of thousands of years ago, our lifestyles have changed immensely. But one aspect that remains unchanged is the school system. From the Shuyuans in ancient China to universities in the US, different forms of education have existed over the years, but they all possessed the same teacher-student structure at their cores. Humans, like most other mammals, spend tremendous amounts of time and energy taking care of their children. And one critical aspect of that process is passing on knowledge to the next generation so they can use that knowledge to further advance human societies. The most of efficient way of doings this is through schools and teachers who dedicate their lives to spreading what they know. This need for education will not subside in the future, so unless we can develop a way to directly plant information in brains without the act of learning, teachers and schools will continue to exist in the future.
