The weather plays like a broken record in the Northwest, as another day of rain and snow continue. A stubborn Pacific storm is hammering the West Coast with rain, while the mountains are looking at more snow. Another 3 to 7 inches of snow could fall in the Tetons and Cascades, while the mercury will only top out in the mid-30s.

Along the coast, a little rain will fall. Highs will range from near 50 to 60 degrees.

A bit of wintry mix is spreading eastward along the U.S.-Canadian border mixing with the cold air that is already in place. With highs only reaching into the mid-30s, folks may have to brace for a little bit of a light wintry mix. The Great Lakes will see an upper-level disturbance move through, touching off some light rain, with temperatures in the 50s for highs.

The other big story is the soaring temperatures that will move into the Southwest and also the central and southern Plains. Highs will rocket into the 70s, with even a few upper 80s across Texas and Oklahoma. Temperatures will even get into the 50s as far north as South Dakota; a place just a few weeks ago was in teens and 20s. Along with the warm and sunny weather that will grace this large piece of real-estate, will also be the winds. Gusts could exceed 40 mph is some areas.
