would的用法说明
would(Britain):[wud] would(US):[wud],在陈述语气中,表示过去将来时,表示有意识的行动或意志,常用于间接引语中)将;要;偏要;愿。
【一、基本用法】
1. (用于构成过去将来时)将,会:
You said you would be free that night. 你说那晚上你有空。
2. (表示愿意)想要,愿意:
She would do anything for her parents. 她愿意为她父母做任何事。
3. (表示推测)大概,或许,会:
You wouldn’t recognize the place now—it’s changed so much. 你现在可能认不出这地方了,它的.变化太大了。
4. (表示请求或提议)请,…好吗:
Would you please translate this letter for me? 你给我翻译这封信行吗?
5. (表示过去习惯)常常,总是:
When he was young he would often walk in these woods. 他年轻时常在这些树林里散步。
6. (用于虚拟条件句的主句)会:
If I were in your position,I would accept their offer. 如果我处于你的地位,我会接受他们的条件。
【二、用法说明】
1. would表示习惯,只用于指过去;若表示现在的习惯,则用will。(参见will)
2. 表示推测、请求、提出看法或询问情况时,属表示委婉语气的用法,从时间上看它并不一定指过去:
London wouldn’t suit her. 伦敦对她不会合适。
You’d like some tea, wouldn’t you? 喝点茶好吗?
Would Sunday night suit you? 星期天晚上适合你吗?有时可视为一种省略的虚拟语气,如Father wouldn’t allow it可视为是下面一句的省略:
Father wouldn’t allow it if you asked him. 你要是问父亲,他是不会允许的。
