1.1 compulsory for 5-16 years old
1.2 90% go to state schools
2 school year
2.1 september- july
2.2 3 terms- about 13 weeks each
2.3 mon-fri 9.00-3.30 pm
2.4 lunch break - cafeteria, packed lunches
3 perimary
3.1 ages 5- 11
3.2 co- educational
3.3 english , maths , science+ others
4 secondary
4.1 ages 11-16 and 17- 18
4.2 comprehensive - all abilities
5 tertiary
5.1 gae 16- GSCEs in 10 subjects
5.2 age 17- AS Levels in 3 or 4 subjects
5.3 age 18- A Levels in 3 subjects for university entrance
