"Oliver Twist" is the second novel of the British writer Charles Dickens. It happend in the foggy city--London, tells the pitiful encounter and miserable life of the protagonist Oliver. He grew up in an orphanage and he had always been starving and bullied. He was abused by the woman who owned the shop and others when he was apprenticed to a coffin shop. Then he escaped to London alone and got into a den of thieves by a mistake. He was forced into a line with cruel thugs. In the end, he finnaly discovered his own identity and found happiness with the help of the kind hearted people.
