SUBJECT:POSTPONEMENT OF THE EFFECTIVE DATE of paragraphs 7.2.2,7.2.4,8.4,13.2.2,14.1,20.2 and 29.2;Table 3.6 in the Second Edition of the Standard for Appliance Wiring Material(AVLV2),UL 758
UL is postponing the effective date for the Second Edition of UL 758 from November 1,2006 to May 1,2008.
When the original effective date was established,the extent of the effected materials and coverings that would require long-term aging was under estimated.It has now been determined that many Listees employing nylon and other materials in their Recognized styles will require long term aging tests and there is not sufficient time remaining to complete these tests.UL proposes postponement of the effective date so the work required on each clients file can be completed.
All Recognized products must comply with the new requirements of UL 758 by the effective date of May 1,2008.UL strongly encourages applicants to submit affected products for evaluation to the new requirements as soon as possible to ensure that compliance is determined before the effective date.
Questions regarding interpretation of requirements should be directed to the responsible UL Staff in the office where you normally conduct engineering investigations.

UL延迟了UL758第二版的生效日期 从2006年1月日到2008年5月1日。

最初生效日期确定时，有效的材质和绝缘材料可能需要经过较长时间的测试，而这个测试的时间还没有确定。至今已有的材料象尼龙等其他材料要得到认可可能需要很长时间的测试，而我们没有足够的时间来完成这些测试。
UL计划延迟了生效日期，这样才有足够的时间对所有的材料进行测试。
在2008年5月1日前，所有认可的产品必须要符合UL758的新要求。UL强烈鼓励申请者尽快提交有影响的产品给我们测试，确保在生效日期之前做出承诺。
