In a typical system the transmitter terminal will contain an input transducer which converts the speech pressure waves in the air into an electrical signal. This input transducer is commonly called a microphone. The transmission channel is the medium by which the electrical signal is conveyed from the transmitter terminal to the receiver terminal. The people who provide the input sound by speaking into the microphone and receive the sound after transmission by listening to the loudspeaker are called the communicators. In practice the transmitter or receiver terminal will probably contain an amplifier. This then guarantees that even a small sound at the input to the transmitter microphone will produce a sound at the output of the receiver loudspeaker. In order to discuss examples and illustrate their properties we must introduce some extra terminology and make some definitions. 8.2HDTV(高清晰度电视)基本概念
高清晰度电视的基本概念实际上并不是提高每个单元域的清晰度,而更多是提高图像中包括的可视域的百分比。
模拟和数字HDTV的要素是朝每帧在1000行有1000个水平点发展。这个会导致在垂直和水平域的角度有2-3个点的提高。HDTV方案要素还把屏幕高宽比从4/3改为了16/9,让图像更像“电影模式”。
注意:图像的屏幕高宽比定义为图像的宽W和它的高H的比值。最佳观看距离(用图像的高H表示)是眼睛刚好能觉察到图像的细节元素的距离。

HDTV的问题
8.3.1
带宽限制
一个模拟录制频率周期最多可以提供两个像素信息。(注意:这是最多----一个周期可能容易引起争议。只能提高一个像素的全录制信息!)
传统的NTSC图像以29.97HZ频率提供525行427像素的水平解析度。这最少需要3.35MHZ(假设每个录制周期2个像素)带宽来承载无压缩电视信息。
如果把HDTV图像提高到每1050行600像素(保持同样的帧速率),那意味着需要18MHZ的带宽,很明显会有问题---因为现有的陆地信道分配限制在6MHZ。
(题外话,“陆地”这个词对于电视专业人员来说意味着无线电视传输。这是为了和卫星及有线传输区别开来)
陆地广播(假设20M带宽)大概有以下这几种可选项:
1.
把信道分配系统从6MHZ改到20MHZ;
2.
在现有6MHZ带宽里把信号进行压缩来适配;
3.
分配多信道(2个压缩的或3个不压缩的)给HDTV信号。
方案1和2与现有NTSC业务事实上是不兼容的。保持兼容唯一的可能是在特定的信道广播NTSC信号,而在其它信道广播HDTV信号。
方案3确实解决了兼容问题----因为开始的6MHZ频段可用于NTSC广播标准,其它增加的信道用于HDTV信号。具体来说,在这个改进的系统中,一个现有的VHF(Very
High
Frequency,特高频)信道可以绑定一个(或两个)UHF(UltraHigh
Frequency,超高频)信道,一个VHF信道可以承载类似现有NTSC信号的信息,一个UHF信道(或多个)可以承载增加的高清信号信息。
