Spring Festival, Chinese New Year,is the most important festivalfor all of us. All family members get together on New Year'Eve to have a big meal.At the same time, everyone celebrates to each other. At about 12 o'clock, some parents and children light crackers. The whole sky is lighted brightly. We may watch the fireworks excitedly. How busy it is!
On the first early moring of one year, many senior citizen get up early and they stick the reversed Fu or hang some couplets on the front door. Some house's windows are sticked on red paper cutlings. The Chinese New Year lasts fifteen days. So during the fifteen days, we always visit our relatives from door to door. At that time, children are the happiest because they can get many red packets form their parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and so on. The last day of the Chinese New Year is another festival. It names the Lantern Festival. So the Chinese New Year comes to the end.
4.Protecting the Environment around us
Environmental problems are becoming more and more serious all over the world. For example, cars have made the air unhealthy for people to breathe and poisonous gas is given off by factories. Trees on the hills have been cut down and waste water is being poured continuously into rivers.Furthermore, wherever we go today, we can find rubbish carelessly disposed. Pollution is, in fact, threatening our existence.
The earth is our home and we have the duty to take care of it for ourselves and for our later generations. Fortunately, more and more people have realized these problems. Measures have been taken to cope with these problems by the government. Laws have been passed to stop pollution. I hope the problem will be solved in the near future and our home will become better and better.
5.Changes in our Hometown
In the past ten years, great changes have taken place in our hometown.Take my family for example. My parents contacted others mainly by sending them letters in the past, but now we call long distancd at home. And once my parents listened to radio for news and other information, but now we watch the news and other programs on TV.Another big change is in the housing conditions. When they got married about ten years ago,my parents lived in a samll room crowded with furniture, but now we have moved intwo a big new three-room apartment.
In short, changes in our hometown in the past ten years have brought us comfort and convenience.
6Very glad to receive your letter of July 13. Thank you for your congratulations. I was very excited when I heard that Beijing won the bid for the 2008 Olympic Games. Immediately I called Wei Guo and Li Hong to my house. After a brief discussion we decided to put up a wall newspaper for our class. We hurried to our classroom and began to work. Wei Guo wrote a poem. Li Hong copied some news from the newspapers. I drew an Olympic flag. The next Monday, our classmates were both surprised and overjoyed when they saw the wall newspaper.
7 hope you can come to China to watch the Olympic Games in 2008. Then I'll be very happyto be your guide. Xiao Ming had a dream (梦) last night . In the dream , he volunteered to serve (志愿列队) the Beijing Olympics .
8Xiao Ming had a dream last night. In the dream, he volunteered to serve the Beijing Olympics. He tried his best to help the foreign friends from different countries. When he found a foreign friend worried in the street, he went up to him and asked him what was the matter. The foreigner told Xiao Ming he was Jack, and he forgot the way to the Sun Hotel. Then Xiao Ming stopped a taxi and took him to the Sun Hotel. Xiao Ming talked with Jack on the way and made Jack know more about Beijing. Jack thanked Xiao Ming very much and thought Xiao Ming's English was very good. Xiao Ming was very happy. He smiled and smiled, then he woke up.
9New Beijing, Great Olympics
The 2008 Olympic Game has been the most cheerful and anticipated event throughout Beijing ever since Beijing was rewarded the right to host the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, yet the focus should be shifted from making a promise to fulfilling the promise made.
In my point of view, to bridge the gap between the promise and reality, Beijing still has a long way to go. To begin with, infrastructure construction should be the primary concern. Such infrastructures as communications and transportation system and facilities ought to draw our constant attention. First, traffic jam has been an ageold headache in Beijing. The scene of long queues of vehicles worming their way inch by inch will surely cause great incontinence, and blemish the image of the city meanwhile. Next, to add enchantment to convenience, overall cityplanning is indispensable. Time permitting, a redesign of city layout and adjustment of architectural style would provide a better environment for fostering the characteristic, blending, oriental elegance with international grandeur, will tower aloft among surrounding architectures. To achieve such effect, Beijing shall solicit opinions from firstrate architects and make an overall plan. Thirdly, quality of the population should be improved. To make an international metropolis, both “hardware” and “software” are important.

10 篇?你要的太多,没有人去费那么长时间给你写,我帮你一下吧!记的给我打个好评呀!<Little girl’s gift> The story goes that some time ago, a man had a very lovely little daughter. One day the man punished his three-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper.(一卷金色包装纸)
Money was tight and he became angry when the child tried to decorate a box to put
under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, (尽管如此)the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, “This is for you, Daddy.”
The man was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, (过度反应)but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. He yelled at her,“Don’t you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside?” The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, “Oh, Daddy, it’s not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They are all for you, Daddy.”
The father was crushed. He put his arm around his little girl, and he begged for her
forgiveness.
Only a short time later, an accident took the life of the child. It is also told that her
father kept the gold box by his bed for many years and whenever he was discouraged,
he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it
there. In a very real sense, each of us, as human beings, has been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses ... from our children, family members, friends and God. There is simply no other possession anyone could hold, more precious than this. 第2篇When we give thanks We always celebrated Dad’s birthday on Thanksgiving Day, even after he entered a nursing home. As years went on, these events took on a double meaning for me: a traditional birthday party for Dad, and thanking for all that he had been to me in my life. When we knew it might be his last birthday, the whole family decided to rearrange Thanksgiving plans and come together for a huge birthday celebration at the nursing home.
Dad was a good storyteller and here was the audience he had had. During a quiet moment, I announced that it was now Dad’s turn to listen to some stories for a change. I wanted everyone to tell Dad what we loved about him. The room became still. One after another, people told stories from their hearts, while Dad listened with tears in eyes. People recalled kinds of stories — stories about when they were little, stories about when Dad was young, and stories that shared family treasures.
The stories flowed. Everyone seemed to have more than one story. Even the little grandchildren couldn’t wait to tell Dad why they loved him. For a man who had been kind to so many hundreds of people in his life, here was our chance to celebrate him. A few months later, at Dad’s memorial service, we more fully realized what we had given Dad that night. Those are the stories people normally tell at a funeral after a loved one is no longer alive to hear the words. They tell stories, full of tears. But we had given those memories to Dad in his life, and we had told them through laughter, accompanied by hugs and joy. He had them to hold and roll over in his mind during his last days and months. Words do matter, and they are enough. We just need to say them or to speak them publicly to the ones we love. That’s the way to give back love and our chance to celebrate a person in his or her life.
