我们曾有过这样的经历：当我们做一件事情的时候，往往凭第一感觉，凭一时冲动，结果有很多时候考虑问题不是很周全。当时，我们多么希望这个世界上有卖后悔药的啊！但是，这是不可能的。所以，当我们决定做某件事，特别是重大问题时，必须要进行全方位的考虑。拿不准的时候多听听别人的意见，也很有好处。从过去的经验，周围他人的影响，未来可能产生的结果中，做出一个合理的解决问题方法。
也有一些人认为，在这个快速多变的社会，稍微一犹豫，时机会在瞬间错失，有的时候考虑太多也是不好的。正如鲍威尔曾讲过的：在掌握40%-70%信息的时候作出决策。信息过少，风险过大，不好决策；信息充分了，你的对手已经行动了，你就出局了。
‘三思而后行’与快速地把握时机并不矛盾，做事情要学会把握时机，同时在决策的时候多思考，这样的人才有希望到达成功的彼岸。
