　　在美丽的多多岛上，人们自由自在地生活，这里铁路网络十分发达，人们的出行和货物的运输便靠岛上那群勤劳快乐的小火车来完成。蓝色的火车头托马斯是一个快乐热心肠的小家伙，他和朋友们詹姆斯、爱德华、培西、汉瑞、托比、高登、艾米莉每天在胖总管的安排下，穿梭行驶于整个多多岛，做着各种各样的工作。在这一过程中，由于性格不同，他们之间也发生了许许多多有趣的事情，好玩的故事天天上演……

本片由W. V. Awdry的原著改编，最初由英国ITV电视台制作，现由加拿大CGI接手。《托马斯和他的朋友们》自1984年播出至今，备受全球各地小朋友的欢迎，已在30多个国家和地区播出。
