For the show, we need:

SCENE 1:

Narrator: Usually Tom didn't want to go to school even the girls made him interested. He pretends to be sick again.

(Tom looked at the shining sky, but he felt so sad. He walked into his bedroom.)

Aunt Polly: "Tom, what's the matter with you?!" (Asked angrily)

Tom moaned: "Oh, auntie! My sore toe is killing me!"

Aunt Polly cried: "Your sore toe?! That's what you've been complaining about!? Stop the nonsense and get out of the bed, I don't want you to be late for school."

Tom whined: "Oh my tooth! My tooth!" (Cover right cheek with both hands)

Aunt Polly asked, "Now your tooth hurts?" (Then, she peered into Tom's mouth and wiggled a tooth) "That front one is loose. I'll have to pull it out."

(Tom jumped out of the bed and he yelled) "Please do not pull it! Aunt, it does not hurt anymore! I don't want to stay home from school!"

SCENE 2

Tom greeted Huck, "Hello, Huckleberry! What's that you got?"

Huck: "A dead cat."

Tom: "What's a dead cat good for, Huck?"

Huck: "Good to cure warts."

Tom: "I play with frogs so much I've got lots of warts," "Say, how you cure warts with a dead cat?"

Huck replied: "Well, you take a dead cat to a graveyard at midnight, you chant some words at a freshly dug grave, and the warts fall off.

Narrator: Huck was going to the graveyard that night. Tom thought that was a fine idea and asked to tag along. Huck agreed to call for Tom just before midnight, and Tom continued on his way.

Scene 3;
By the time Tom entered the school classroom he was late. Mr. Dobbins, the teacher, asked Tom where he had been. Tom usually made up a story when he was late. But not today. Tom saw an empty seat beside the new girl on the girls' side of the room. He knew he would be punished if he said he had been with Huck Finn. He would be sent to sit beside the new girl!

Tom announced to the class: I stopped to talk with Huckleberry Finn!
(Mr. Dobbins stared in surprise.)

Mr. Dobbins: "Thomas Sawyer! This is the most astounding confession!"

(And sent Tom over to the girl side of the room)

Tom sat at the bench and pretended to read a book.

(Tom looked casually at the new girl. She saw his gaze and made a face. She turn away from Tom, When she turned back, there was a peach on her desk.)

(Tom wrote on his slate: "Please take it". I got more. Then, Tom began to draw. Becky tried to ignore him, but she couldn't help and wondering what was on the slate.

Becky:"Let me see it."

(Tom draws a house with smoke coming out of the chimney. A stick man stood in front of the house. The girl was impressed.)

Becky: "I wish I can draw."

Tom whispered: "It's easy." "Stay for lunch and I'll teach you." ”What's your name?" And he smiled.

Becky: "Becky Thatcher," "What is your?" "Oh, I know, you are Tom Sawyer."

Tom: "They only call me Thomas when I am bad." "I am Tom."

When I'm good, you call me Tom, will you? Tom asked.

(Becky began to see what he had written.)

Tom: "Promise you won't tell."

Becky: "I promise." "Cross my heart."

(Tom put I Love You on the slip)

Becky: "Oh, you bad thing!"

(After that, they met in the lane behind the school house)

SCENE 4:

Narrator: After that, they met in the lane behind the school house.

Tom: “Was you ever engaged, Becky?"

Becky: “What’s that?"

Tom:" Why, engaged to be married."

Becky: "No."

Tom: “Would you like to be?"

Becky: “I guess so. I don't know. What is it like?"

Tom: "You don't like anyone but me. Then we kiss, and that's that. You walk with me coming to school and going home. I choose you at parties, and you choose me."

(Becky thinks that sounded good.)

Becky whispered in Tom's ear: “I love you."

Becky: “I never heard of being engaged before."

Tom: "Oh, it's ever jolly. Why, me and Amy Lawrence--"

Becky shouted: "Oh, Tom!"You've been engaged before!"

(Becky started to cry!)

Tom comforted, "I don't care for anybody but you."

(Becky was hurt and angry. She wouldn't listen. Tom didn't know what to do, so he left.)
