little和small的区别

1.small用来指外形、尺寸较小，它的反义词是big和large。如：
Could I have a small brandy,please?我能少来点白兰地吗？
You're too small to be a policeman.你是如此小而不能成为警察。

2.little含有更多情感，表示"小巧的""小而可爱的"。如：
Poor little thing-come here and let me look after you.小可怜，过来这里，让我照顾你。
“What's he like?""Oh,he's a funny little man.""他像什么？”“他是一个可爱的年轻男人。”
What's that nasty little boy doing in our garden?那个淘气的小男孩在我们花园里做什么？
They've bought a pretty little house in the country.我们在乡村买了个非常漂亮的小花园。
【注】little一般不用在动词后面。
