Not until I read "Global Climate" did I find how the environment is seriously polluted.
It says that due to the increase in the amount of carbon dioxide gas produced, which leads to global warming, the sea-level has risen by 0.5 centimeter as a result. It may not sound much, but they are other large fresh water areas on Earth, two been Antarctica and the Greenland Islands. If all the ice in Antarctica melts, the sea-level will rise by 60 meters, continually rising by another 6 meters when all ice in Greenland Islands melt. Now on the coast of the USA, cyclones and tornadoes often occur, causing huge economic loss. Global warming also lead to alpine animals migrating from their homes, in which many animals die and become extinct because of inadaption to the new environment.
So it is our responsibility to actively call for "Protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility."
