Traffic safety is very important for everyone. Every year, many people die or get injured in traffic accidents. Some of the accidents are caused by mechanical problems, but most of them are the results of careless and reckless driving. Therefore, we should obey the traffic rules to protect ourselves and others.
First of all, we should walk on the sidewalk and cross the street at the crosswalk. We should look both ways before crossing and follow the traffic lights. We should not run across the street or play on the road.
Secondly, we should ride bicycles safely and legally. We should wear helmets and reflective vests. We should not ride too fast or too close to other vehicles. We should not run red lights or go against the traffic. We should use hand signals when turning or stopping.
Thirdly, we should drive cars responsibly and courteously. We should have a valid driver's license and obey the speed limit. We should not drink and drive or use cell phones while driving. We should wear seat belts and check the mirrors frequently. We should give way to pedestrians and emergency vehicles.
By obeying the traffic rules, we can reduce the risk of accidents and make the roads safer for everyone.
