On the other hand, entertaining movies add levity and mirth to life. On balance, however, I prefer entertaining movies with profound implication.
One of my favorite movies: Forrest Gump makes my argument compelling. It is really a must-see movie and I have considerable inclination to recommend it. For one thing, this movie is very entertaining as it is full of an innocent American man’s adventures in a fast changing American society. And the actors’ hilarious performance and witty dialogues would give rise to laughing to tears. For another, this movie, in a nutshell, reflects American modern history since the civil war. For those who are interested in American history, this is a vivid history from ordinary people’s perspective. Surely, its touching love story is worth eulogizing.
In sum, like this movie, it not only allows us to escape reality but also provides us with healthy laughter; more importantly, behind the entertainment, it leaves space to think critically.
