歌曲创作背景
2000年的一个晚上，酷玩乐队录制完专辑《Parachutes》中的歌曲《Shiver》后，一起出门休息。当时天上的星星在漆黑夜空中显得特别耀眼。坐在一旁胡乱弹着吉他的主唱克里斯·马汀抬起头凝望着夜空，即兴哼出了《Yellow》的旋律，灵感迅速地冲进了马汀的大脑里。
马汀在构思歌名的时候遇到了瓶颈，他想用一个特定的词来贴合这首歌。他无意间看见当时录音室里的斯蒂芬妮（马汀碰巧在录音室的朋友）的黄色皮肤，斯蒂芬妮皮肤洋溢的黄色光芒让马汀立即将这首歌被命名为《Yellow》。
