The interior design was the first thing which struck me, which was a beautiful blend of modern and classical styles. Furthermore, when you stay in a city like Singapore where public transport everywhere else is excellent, expectations are inevitably high and they were not met for The Scarlet. On the final and positive note, I recognize the efforts of the staff to add a personal touch in terms of communication with guests and a generally friendly atmosphere; this is usually not found at mass-market accommodations
