It appears that either Jane or Marek will be elected (to be presidnets) of the student union.答案说要改成president，为什么不能改成for president？有be elected president这种说法？加for就是错的？

第一道题：
需要填president，这和elect这个词的用法有关。elect的一个用法是：(sb.) be elected sth.（某人被选为），其中sth.表示职位，作主语补足语，不需要任何冠词。另例：
She was elected Chair of the Board of Governors. （她被选为州长董事会的主席。）

be elected for 也有，例如：
The government is elected for a five-year term of office.
elect 还有其他的用法：（主动的）
We elected him as our representative.
The group elected one of its members to be their spokesperson.

第二道题：
不能改成Bay, which have resulted in difficulty，因为修改之后关系代词which指代Bay，但要说“某某海湾导致了某种困难”有逻辑问题。实际上，“引起困难”的是“知之甚少（little is known）”。

谢谢！但我对第一道题be elected和be elected for的区别有些疑问，我看到网上例句又说for的后面加任职时间，但后面也有加职位的，那这两者还有什么区别呢？

常见的是 be elected +职位
但还真没有见过be elected for +职位

有这种 be elected for the UN Security Council （不是职位，是机构）

1、整个主语是一个从句,that引导的，这个主语从句里面的主语是the
country，无论谓语有多少个并列短语，这都是一个从句，因为是这一个从句做主语，所以整句话的谓语需要用单数。
2、should

是典型的虚拟条件句里的状语（条件状语从句），其原形是

melt，表示与将来事实相反的假设，所以后面的主句也要用虚拟语气（提前一个时态，由一般将来时改为过去将来时）。

第1题，选B的话就没有谓语动词了。displayed是过分，是定语，representing是现分定语，都不是谓语动词。when后面都结束都是定语从句，修饰era。
第2题就是选的A呀。从逻辑上来讲，牙科手术从传统型到美容型的原因是成人龋齿少了，虚荣心强了，所以A是对的呀。
